WING CHUN & SHAOLIN KUNG FU As a young boy Brian "Seraiah" was intrigued by the movements, energy and legacy of the one and only Bruce Lee. After studying and mimicking the graceful techniques of the late great Master, he found himself wishing to learn the true traditional and Authentic Chinese Martial Arts.
This he found in Ving Tzun (Wing Chun) Sifu Stephen Joffe (MartialWorks.com - Boulder), who is in direct teaching linage of ascended Grandmasters Yip Man and Wong Shun Lueng.
Yip Man was the original instructor of Bruce Lee beginning at age 13 and Wong Shun Lueng completed the teachings of the young prodigy. Wong passed his wisdom on to many young Sifu's but it was his gifted UK student Grandmaster Michael Street who brought and taught the ancient Wing Chun art to the heart of Stephen Joffe. Seraiah works dirextly with Sifu Joffe and his two Head Student-Instructors Sifu Ian Ventor and Sifu Greg Pettersen, whom all reside in the Colorado.
Following Brian's Qigong Retreat to China in September 2008, he found a deep love and respect for Shaolin Kung Fu and it's brilliant performance flair and ancient fighting foundations. He trained with some of Qigong Master Wan Sujian's head students, all of whom were high ranking former Disciples of Shaolin. With limited time he learned forms and theories and continued his search for true Shaolin as he returned to the states.
Seraiah was led to 34th Generation Shaolin Disciple Warrior, Shifu Yan Lei (www.shifuyanlei.co.uk). He began his studies of the numerous DVD's and instructional material provided my the former Monk and found his body adapted quickly to the intensely strenuous training. In November 2008 Seraiah trained directly with Shifu Yan Lei in San Diego, which was the first time the Shaolin Disciple had ever been in the United States. Soon Shifu Yan Lei will relocate to Berkeley, CA and create a Shaolin Training Temple. At this time Seraiah will continue training with him.
Led by love for Chinese Martial Arts and Healing Systems, Seraiah was guided to Master Christophe Clarke (MasterClarke.com - Denver) to continue his training of Shaolin performance forms, traditional weapons and meditations. Master Clarke is a World Gold Medalist Tai Chi Champion who has lived and trained extensively with Asian Masters while living in many different countries and studying many unique systems.

| | | | | Brian Wood worked with me as a guest clinician at the Rulon Gardner Summer Camp Series. I invited Brian at the request of his reputation for providing a unique Eastern approach to the sport of wrestling. Brian taught solid fundamentals of wrestling. He combined philosophy with technique in a way that is unique in the sport of wrestling. Brian's approach taught some important lessons about how to approach the mental challenges that wrestlers face. He taught warm-up, stretching, and strength building exercises that are unique in the sport of wrestling, but are very specific to the sport. The exercises build core muscle strength and balance that wrestlers need and use. It was a privilege working with Brian and I would recommend Brian as a camp clinician. I plan to continue to work with Brian.
